Rodeo time

109

When my sister, nephews and brother-in-law had their one-week vacation last December in Las Vegas together with some of our relatives and friends abroad, they continuously sent us sms and mms of their tours and experiences in the entertainment capital of the world. One of their most memorable experiences was when they watched the National Finals Rodeo in Thomas and Mack center. Via web cam, my nephews were so excited in telling me the details of what they saw. They were thrilled by the real life cowboy riding on horses and jumping on the jerking buffalo on the lose, plus other rodeo stints, which they obviously saw for the first time. My sister and her friends cannot stop screaming when the cowboy almost raked the ground with his boots as he held tight on to the buffalo’s horns. They were seated on the second level of the center that’s why they can clearly see the action that was happening on the arena.

Curious as ever, I even asked my sister how they managed to watch the NFR and availed the National Final Rodeo tickets. She told me that one of our relatives is a rodeo fan and has been watching the finals every year in Las Vegas. So when they ran out of places to go to (probably got tired of the slot machines in their hotel), my cousin took all of them to the NFR where they saw the best show on earth that week. Their description of the National Championship was only one word: Exciting! The NFR or National Finals Rodeo is held every first week of December at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. Always referred to as the world series of Rodeo, NFR showcases the country’s top rodeo performers and vie for the much coveted title of NFR Champions.
