Drawing…
By bluepanjeet on May 10, 2008 in *Open Door

When invitations come, it doesn’t mean that you are invited to join the food galore. You are invited because the celebrant wants to share with you their special day. Just last week I received three invitations from three close friends. One just celebrated today and the other two will commence one month apart. To be honest with all of you, it’s very hard for me to fit everything in my schedule. Others thought that I just sit here in front of the computer till kingdom come and surf every blog or website in existence. But the truth is I’m so preoccupied with so many things that sometimes when I close my eyes during the night, I can’t seem to count sheep because of over-exhaustion from mixed pleasure, study and work. I’ll just spare the datails mga kapatid…
But the gist is, I’m very unpredictable. Yet it may seem that I always stood people up in my appointments, but truth to tell, my schedule is very unpredictable (as if I have a choice). But these invitations, whether or not I would and could attend, are just some of the many “you’re invited” surprises that I am planning to grace with my horrible presence. Its just a matter of timing because oftentimes (and I say it again with emphasis “often”) when I am ready to go down the road, when I’m already worked up and up beat, hassles kept coming my way and hinders me from pushing through my original plans. Madaming beses na. Even my friends offline already labeled me as “Mr. Susunod”, can I blame them? kasi nga sa halip na sumunod ako eh di ako natutuloy.
Sometimes I exert a lot of effort in preparing for a trip, or for a party for instance or just a lazy day on the road… But on the last minute, responsibility-slash-irony strikes, ruining my plan. Kaya whenever there are invitations, I never promise kasi lumalabas lang eh Indianero ako even though I’m not a decendant of Apache Chief, o kaya apo ni Picaso even though I’m not that good in drawing.
Pero albeit I’m fickle minded when it comes to appointments, I really try my best to court destiny so that the favor of the grand scheme of things would befall on me. Kaya sa dami dami ko ng litanya ko sa entry na to, I am just conveying one thing “I Will Try My Best”… Promise.
So the people who have taken the risk of inviting me to their special day are.
1. Felmar Fiel SVD, together with other four professandis of the Pantas Class, will have his perpetual profession this coming May 25 at the Holy Spirit Chapel of my dream theological seminary, The Divine Word Seminary in Tagaytay. At last after so many years of formation, Felmar will now make his final vow to God. Kaya if ever Pinoy Big Brother would prove to be an obstacle during his many prospective “on calls”, then he has no choice but to skip PBB and prioritize the call of God’s Children. Fiel is the very first guest blogger of OTWOMD in “The Voice Series” and is the author of Felmar’s Missionary Journey. On June 2008 (tentative date), he will again face the altar for his Diaconal Ordination.

2. Donna and Jaye’s kid, Antoinne Leon have just turned 1 year old today and celebrated his birthday at the Southbay Gardens Clubhouse in Paranaque. I didn’t make it today because of my darn cold. But I was there during Leon’s baptismal in Intramuros last year (see how time flies so fast? I’m really getting old). I was planning to attend today with some friends who I never contacted because of memory lapse (kawalawalaan solo na naman ako), but this darn cold prevented me from going to the birthday bash, worse I failed to send a message to her via sms and friendster. Hope this entry could make up to her because I really felt bad on my lapses and omissions. Anyhow, God Bless Leon and more birthdays to come — from tito bluep! (Donna nga pala is one of my friends who i featured in “Too Hundreth”)

3. And Lastly, Jhoen Buenaventura will finally have his Diaconal Ordination on June 30, 2008 in the Diocese of Mariveles Balanga. Monsignor Socrates Villegas will officiate the event and I hope some of our fellow sems and exsems will attend Jhoen’s special day so that our planned talent search for Videoke King would push thru haha (Calling Brother Utoy and Felmar! LOL). Jhoen studied at the Pontificio Collegio Beda in Rome Italy and will finally come home this June to prepare (not for the Videoke King) but for his ordination. Isn’t it weird that most of my friends are inside thedformation while i am still here outside? Kaya nga itong blog ko ay walang kamatayang “on The Wings Of My Dream” kasi baka sakali matupad ang mga pangarap ko kahit mukhang nawawala na ako sa kalendaryo. (Jhoen was the second guest blogger for OTWOMD’s “The Voice” Series)
Mababaw akong tao (I am a shallow person) because whenever I receive invitations I get flattered. Pero sana lang ma-attendan ko lahat (I hope I can attend to all of them) because going to such event is not just paying courtesy to the invite, but also saying to celebrant that you are happy celebrating with them their simple joys in life. If I ever attend the two ordination, I will bet my Yamaha Organ (tsktsk Malisyoso kayo!) that I will be on the very last row of the pew… Naiiyak ako pag ordinasyon na… para bang ako yung oordinahan at mawawala na ang libog ko sa katawan habang buhay.. no more porn, no more red lights, no more stupid and very expensive lady’s drink for the chick, and no more escapades LOL Joke.
Seriously, there are few people in life that are worthy to be called modern heroes because they are very much willing to sacrifice their life, even their very own comfort zones, just for the sake of love and service. And I really envy these people. Looking through inside myself I can’t seem to help but wonder where my life is really heading… Family life or Religious life… yet amidst all these musings, I can say that, these people (Fiel, Donna and Jhoen) do deserve my presence and not my drawing… Simply because they all inspire me in so many ways, in so many manner and in so many levels that putting their life into art would not suffice by just a mere drawing, but a painting…
Congratulations and Good luck to all of you. My prayers are with you…
Pax et Bonum
(*Drawing… is a Filipino colloquial word meaning “stood up” or not arriving as expected or promised: literally speaking, the person is a drawing during celebrations)

Kapatid, maraming salamat! Wala pong ganoong Diocese. Mariveles is a municipality in Bataan. Ecclesiastically, the whole province of Bataan is under the “DIOCESE OF BALANGA”. He he. LOL.

Bluep, ang hirap maging sikat no, kapatid… ang daming imbitasyon. Di bale, although it would be nice if you can attend, I’m sure the people who are inviting you understand how tight your schedule is nowadays.
