May chikka ako sa inyo bilis…!

I am user of chikka since its conception but I haven?t used the system for at least three years now. But Ms. Janette Toral has updated me with the latest in Chikka. Teka muna, what is Chikka ba? Chikka is a Pinoy Innovation - media platform that uses chat message and text message as analternative in communicatiuon building. It?s totally free and you can text anyone who have a cell phone. But because Chikka has eveolved after some years, chikka now brags its new features. Check this out:

  • It is now web based. Whether you are using Linux, Mac or the thought provoking Windows, you can easily use Chikka. There are no more files to download. No more annoying browser that will pop-up your screen during start up.
  • It is now on Universal Messaging Mode. The web based Chikka messenger is now compatible with other instant messenger platforms such as Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, Google Talk, and AIM. You can add your buddies from these platforms and signing up is easy with the new auto-login feature.
  • It is now for World Peace. We all know that you can text your loved ones for free anywhere in the US, UK, Japan, Spain, Hong Kong, Indonesia and the Philippines, but did you know that Chikka added over 100 countries for their text coverage? Starting for as low as 10 US cents per message sent, you can now text everyone anywhere in the world including Osama Bin Laden, Fidel Castro and the Dalai Lama. Just sign up for a Chikka Wallet and load some credits from your Paypal and then *bam! World Peace!
  • It is now forwarded on your Mobile Phones. Youcan now enable mobile forwarding for your Chikka and other IM accounts to receive instant messages as SMS on your mobile phone and easily be able to reply like it were any other text message.
  • It is constantly evolving. The new Chikka will soon support social networking and user-generated contents (much like your Myspace, Multiply and Friendsters) using new breed of popular sites on the Web 2.0 platform (whatever that means). User can now create their own profiles, upload photos, and set up a personal space within their assigned pages. Plus, annoying posers can also start posing and pretend as KC Conception, Paris Hilton and Piolita Pascual. I just wish Chikka would ban the IP of these would be posers!

I would also like to take this space in telling you people some of Ms. Toral?s important announcements:

  • There is a club for Pinoy bloggers, advertisers and e-entrepreneurs called the ?Digital Filipino Club?. The club is a community that started in December 25, 2003. The club has technology briefing and get-together four (4) to twelve (12) times a year in different parts of the country, fostering networking and collaboration among members. Presentation papers and reports are uploaded on a monthly basis. Members are composed of individuals and companies from various sectors with common interest in areas such as internet, e-commerce, research, outsourcing, wireless, internet security, and software process improvement. For more inquiries on how to join this club, please visit the link above.
  • There will be a Social Networking and eBusiness Conference Philippines 2008 happening this May 20 and 21. Details about it can be found HERE
  • and lastly, Ms. Toral has a part 2 of her famous project called The Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs in 2008. The said writing project will consist of nominating 10 emerging influential blogs for 2008, having said, should at least have a visible email address on their site and their blogs started no more earlier than July 1, 2007.

I have also been a subscriber of Chikka for the last five years. However, I haven’t used the platform since 2006.

Thanks for this update. I’ll visit the Chikka website to find out what I have missed.
